BMW India is having a really tough time emotionally as last week another one of its senior officials, Mihir Dayal, who was the director of sales, had passed away after a long battle with cancer. The last BMW model launched by Rudi was the BMW X1 facelift on March 5, 2020. With an experience ranging over two and half decades across automotive and non-automotive industries, Rudratej Singh's former role was that of Global President for Royal Enfield. And, prior to Royal Enfield, he was in the FMCG space with Unilever for more than 16 years within India as well as abroad. Rudy was a graduate of Delhi University while he got a Masters degree Marketing and Finance from the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad.
Besides being an avid biker and auto aficionado, Rudy was also a golfer and also had competed in several tournaments. Being 46 years old, he was the first CEO of Indian origin for BMW while he owned a BMW R nine T and used to frequently take it for a spin. Singh was a soft-spoken yet cheerful person who was not only easily approachable but also was a pretty friendly person for the industry folks as well as BMW dealers and other staff. Rudy will be thoroughly missed by one and all for being a great leader and equally great human being! We at Droom offer our heartfelt condolences to Rudy's family and his loved ones during these difficult times.
