The R 12 nineT and R 12 now come with a new tubular bridge steel space frame along with a bolted-one frame at the rear. The motorcycles now have a sleeker design, thanks to the new frame. The size of the airbox under the seat of the bike is larger.
Both of these motorcycles are powered by a 1,170-cc air- or oil-cooled boxer engine. In the R 12 nineT, the engine churns out 107 bhp at 7,000 rpm and 115 Nm peak torque at 6,500 rpm, and it can produce 93 bhp at 6,500 rpm and 110 Nm peak torque in the R 12. The dual exhaust system is now located on the left side of the motorcycles.
BMW R 12 nineT and R 12 come with new frames, and at the front, the suspension is done by up-side-down forks, while at the rear, it is performed by a monoshock that is attached to a one-sided swingarm. The front forks of the R 12 are well adjusted. Both bikes have twin 320-brakes in the front that use four-piston monobloc brake callipers and one disc at the rear. The company is also offering a BMW Motorrad ABS Pro on the new Motorrad bikes.
