Ducati Desmo450 MX Unveiled as Brand's First Motocross Bike

Ducati has now entered the motocross market with its latest lightweight and powerful Desmo450 MX. It can produce up to 62 bhp of power and comes with signature desmodromic timing.

Ducati has now officially and finally launched its first-ever motocross bike, Desmo450. Not just that, it is the first in the segment to have traction control.

This is a pure off-road bike designed to dominate the dirt tracks and is designed to be lightweight and powerful. The bike is going to sell in the US soon at around Rs. 10 lacs.

Ducati Desmo450 MX features

This motocross bike is made with lightweight aluminium chassis to be agile and give more power output during the racing. One special feature is its Traction Control System which is first in this segment. 

The first Ducati MX also gets the signature desmodromic timing, which makes it a more powerful racing bike. This frame is supported by the 49 mm USD forks that allow a 310 mm travel and connect to a cast swingarm.

It is also made reader-friendly by offering a 4-way adjustable handlebar. Moreover, it has plenty of thoughtful features such as a textured surface for more grip, engine brake control, riding modes, throttle response, and more.

Ducati Desmo450 MX engine & performance

The engine of the Desmo450 MX is the heart of its agile performance. It has a 449.6 cc, liquid-cooled, four-valve, single-cylinder, DOHC engine, which gives a power output of 62 bhp at 9400 rpm and 54 Nm of maximum torque at 7500 rpm. It runs on 5 gears with Quick Shift (only up).

Ducati Desmo450 MX specifications

This off-road racer has a 104.8 kg (231 lb) wet weight with a seat height of 970 mm and a 1494 mm wheelbase. Its brakes are manufactured by Brembo, with the front brake having a two-piston floating calliper with a 260 mm disc and the rear brake with a one-piston calliper with a 240 mm disc.
