Ducati India has finally launched the Hypermotard 698 Mono motorcycle in India after teasing this model on social media for weeks. The all-new single-cylinder Hypermotard 698 Mono is priced at INR 16.50 lakh (ex-showroom). As of now, the two-wheeler giant has only unveiled the standard version, while the sportier RVE version is expected to be launched at the end of this year. The new motorcycle is currently India’s most expensive single-cylinder motorcycle.
Bookings for the Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono are currently open, and deliveries are likely to start by the end of this month. The motorcycle is being offered in the standard variant, which will reach the country as a CBU (Completely Built Unit). It is available in the famous Ducati red color scheme. The new Ducati bike comes with three power modes: Medium, High, and Low. It also houses four ride modes: Road, Sport, Wet, and Urban.

The Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono features the same design elements as the famous Hypermotard 950 model. It is loaded with a sharp LED headlight, an integrated tail section, and a sleek fuel tank. The bike houses dual exhaust pipes located under the tail. It features a high and flat seat and rolls on five-spoke alloy wheels shod by Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres. In terms of features, the motorcycle comes equipped with a 3.8-inch LCD instrument console, traction control, engine brake control, four-level wheelie control, and Ducati Power Launch.
Powering the Hypermotard 698 Mono is the world’s most robust 659-cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, the Superquadro Mono. The unit generates a horsepower of 77.5 bhp and a peak torque of 63 Nm. It is paired with a slip-and-assist clutch and a six-speed gearbox.
The Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono houses a robust steel trellis frame attached to an aluminum swingarm and a steel-tube subframe. For suspension duties, the bike features an adjustable Marzocchi USD fork up front and a Sachs monoshock at the back. Braking duties are done by Brembo M4.32 brake calipers with a 330 mm disc at the front.
