Force Motors is gearing up to launch the new Gurkha 5-door in the Indian market this year. The auto giant has teased its much-awaited 5-door SUV. The automaker is planning to reveal the new model three years after the launch of the current generation Gurkha, which comes in a three-door body style. The previous-generation Gurkha comes in both three- and five-door body styles.
After its official launch in India, the new Gurkha 5-door will rival the forthcoming Mahindra Thar 5-door, and it will share its underpinnings with the Gurkha 3-door SUV. The teaser image does not give away much detail about the specifications of the SUV. However, it looks like the 5-door model gets a longer wheelbase and an extra pair of doors. The Gurkha 5-door retains the same boxy silhouette, which makes the SUV instantly recognizable. When it comes to design language, the new off-roader is expected to be based on its 3-door sibling.

Interestingly, the Gurkha 3-door features side-facing large rear windows, while the new 5-door model features proper roll-down windows, providing more comfort to the rear passengers. Spy shots of the car hint that it will get more square headlamps, a revamped front grille and bumper, and a revised front fascia.
Inside the cabin, the Force Gurkha 5-door is expected to remain identical to the previous models. It is expected to come with captain seats, a proper second bench, and usable boot space. More comfortable features might be added by the manufacturer to the upcoming five-door SUV, which is probably aimed at family buyers seeking practicality without sacrificing off-road performance.
The Force Gurkha 5-Door is likely to be powered by a 2.6-litre, four-cylinder turbo diesel engine that churns out peak power of 91 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. The motor will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The unit is likely to come with rear-wheel drive and 4x4 configurations.
Force Motors also shared a glimpse of the Gurkha 5-door at the 2022 Defence Expo in the Southeast Asian country. The brand showcased a more revealed look of this model in the form of the Ksatria SUV to the Indonesian market. The cost of the SUV will be higher than the 3-door model.
