Hero MotoCorp, India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, is planning to set up a new manufacturing facility in Brazil. The brand is aiming to establish a new wholly owned subsidiary in Brazil, which is expected to be called Hero MotoCorp do Brasil Ltd. The new brand will focus on distributing and manufacturing two-wheelers, accessories, and parts. Hero is currently active in over 47 countries, and the new move to invest in Brazil will further strengthen its presence in global markets.
The two-wheeler giant recently released its Q4 FY2024 financial figures, showing an 18.6 percent increase in profit. CEO Niranjan Gupta also confirmed that the company is aiming to establish a two-wheeler plant in Brazil as part of its growth strategy in the Latin American market. This would be the company’s third international facility, after Bangladesh and Colombia. As of now, Hero MotoCorp has six manufacturing facilities in India.

The company’s sales have been increased by the continuous success of the 125+ segment. In the previous fiscal year, the manufacturer further expanded its lineup in the premium space by adding models like the Xoom 110, Xtreme 125R, Xtreme 160R 4V, Xtreme 200S 4V, Karizma XMR 210, and the all-new Mavrick 440. Harley-Davidson and Hero teamed up and unveiled the H-D X440 motorcycle last year. The H-D X440 is the most affordable Harley bike globally. Moreover, the brand opened its Premia and Hero 2.0 stores, updating its existing showrooms. The Premia line is specifically for Hero’s premium range.
In addition, Hero MotoCorp is all set to expand its scooter lineup by launching the Xoom 160cc and Xoom 125cc models on the market later this year. The company’s Xoom 160 and Xoom 125R will enter the premium scooter segment. The Xoom 160 has a maxi scooter design, and it comes equipped with large 14-inch wheels. It is powered by a 156-cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that is mated to an automatic transmission unit. In the premium scooter market, the Xoom 160 will rival the likes of the Yamaha Aerox 155 and the Aprilia SXR 160.
