Hyundai unveiled the Ioniq 9, an all-electric SUV with an innovative design and advanced features. Unveiled at Los Angeles' Goldstein House, the car is built on the Hyundai Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), which is also based on the Ioniq 5 and 6. In the first half of 2025, South Korea and the U.S. Ioniq 9 will reach other markets shortly, including India. Production will begin in the spring of next year.

Performance and Charging Capabilities
The Ioniq 9 is powered by a 110.3kWh battery and is available in Long-Range and Performance variants. The Long-Range model offers both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD), while the Performance version offers only AWD. The RWD variant reaches 0-100 km/h in 9.4 seconds, while the AWD variant clips 6.7 seconds. Powered by two 215hp motors, the Performance model reaches 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds. Using a 350 kW charger, the Ioniq 9 charges from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes. It supports 400V and 800V charging systems and can power external devices through its vehicle-load-to-load (V2L) function.Aerodynamic Design and Aesthetics

The Ioniq 9 offers six-seat and seven-seat configurations, with a middle-row captain's chair that swivels 180 degrees when stationary. The first and second rows have massage features, while the "Universal Island 2.0" console brings up to 18.2 litres of storage. With the third level folded, the cargo space goes from 620 litres to 1,323 litres. Interior tech features include a Bose system with optional 14 speakers, multi-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof and a 12-inch touchscreen along with a 12-inch digital instrument cluster.Safety and Design
