  • Is Suzuki Burgman Electric Launching on November 18, 2021?

Suzuki Motorcycles India might launch the all-electric version of Burgman scooter on November 18, 2021 in the country. The company has sent out an official media invite with a message, "Block Your Date" which indicates that it will take the wraps off a new product. Though, utmost secrecy has been maintained by the Japanese brand regarding the new offering but our friends at Zigwheels believe that it is going to be the much awaited, highly anticipated Suzuki Burgan Electric scooter which will rival Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube and Ola S1.

Suzuki Burgman Electric has been spotted as a test mule for several times in the past and it will be not surprising if we get to see the scooter in person next week on November 18. Design-wise, it will be identical to the ICE powered version of the scooter while underpinning the same platform as well. The features could include an all digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, full-LED lighting, a USB charger, and large under-seat storage. If indeed Suzuki goes ahead with its plan of introducing the Burgman electric, it is going to be the first one from the company in India. Suzuki Burgman Electric could be priced around Rs 1.10-1.20 Lakh (Ex. Showroom) after deduction of the FAME subsidy.

It is being learnt that Suzuki might use a 4.4 kW or a 5 kW electric motor for the Burgman electric which would be equivalent to a 110cc petrol engine. However, it is not confirmed yet whether it will be a swappable unit or a fixed battery. But sources closer to the development indicate that it is going to be a fixed unit and some updates could be given at a later stage. The electric scooter could come with a range of 70-90 kms on a single charge while the top speed could be between 80-90kmph. The battery charging time via the wall mounted AC socket and a DC charger could be more or less similar to its rivals. So, stay tuned with us for more information on what Suzuki has in stores for us on November 18.
