The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Kawasaki is gearing up to enter the adventure bike segment in India with its all-new Kawasaki KLX 230 S motorcycle. The company’s new adventure offering is scheduled to be launched in the Indian market on October 17, 2024. The Kawasaki KLX 230 S is expected to be priced around INR 1.5 to INR 2 lakh, making it the second lowest priced Kawasaki motorcycle in India.

Bookings for the upcoming KLX 230 S motorcycle are already open in India. The Kawasaki KLX 230 S is going to arrive on Indian shores through the CKD route. In the adventure motorcycle segment, the forthcoming KLX 230 S will rival the likes of the Hero Xpulse, Hero Xpulse 200 4V, and the upcoming Xpulse 210.

The new ADV motorcycle's appearance is obvious to us, as it has been spotted on Indian roads multiple times. The India-spec KLX 230 S will share a few design elements from the internationally available model. It comes equipped with elements like a small headlamp and a beak-shaped mudguard.

The KLX 230 S twin-sport motorcycle is underpinned by a steel perimeter frame. Suspension duties are done by a long travel fork up front and a monoshock at the back. The new S trim comes with less suspension travel in comparison to the standard bike. It weighs 133 kg and has a lower seat height of 843 mm. The dual-sport bike rolls on 18-inch rear and 21-inch front wire-spoke wheels. The wheels are covered in twin-purpose knobby tyres. For braking performance, the KLX 230 S receives disc brakes at both ends.

Powering the Kawasaki KLX 230 S ADV motorcycle is a 233-cc one-cylinder air-cooled engine that churns out 19 bhp of power at 8,000 rpm and peak torque of 20.6 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The unit is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
