Royal Enfield, one of India’s leading motorcycle manufacturers, showcased the all-new Flat Track 450 bike at the 2024 London Bike Shed Moto Show. The Flat Tracker 450 is the first officially updated version of the brand’s famous motorcycle, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. The new model is based on the same 450-cc platform. Just like the Royal Enfield FT411 flat tracker, the new 450 version will also be utilized for flat tracking competitions and events that the brand conducts across India and in the UK.
The Head of Product Strategy and Industrial Design at Royal Enfield, Mark Wells, shared images of the Flat Track 450, revealing the new updates. The flat tracker model has received minimal bodywork. Being a lightweight model, the new 450 misses out on a few unnecessary bodyworks, including the windshield and lighting system. Instead, it comes equipped with light-weight body panels, a flat single-piece seat, and a suspension setup. The bike features a different and more accessible Pro Taper handlebar.
The Flat Track 450 features telescopic front forks instead of USDs, which are integrated into the new-generation Himalayan. The bike has a monoshock set up at the rear. Notably, the forthcoming Guerrilla 450 roadster is likely to feature the same suspension unit. The RE Flat Track 450 houses a massive disc brake with Brembo calipers at the rear. For superior grip, it also packs bear claw footpegs.

The Flat Track 450 is expected to be powered by the same 452-cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled Sherpa 450 engine, which is also equipped in the Himalayan 450. The unit churns out a power of 39.4 bhp and a peak torque of 40 Nm. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The engine is likely to generate more power on the new Flat Track 450. The bike rolls on alloy wheels that are shod with Maxxis tyres and a race exhaust. In addition, it features a small instrument console that is likely to get a lap recorder.
Royal Enfield is expected to share more details about Flat Track 450 at its upcoming events. The two-wheeler giant is planning to launch the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 in the Indian market in the coming months. The Guerrilla 450 roadster will retain the same features as the outgoing Himalayan motorcycle.
