Suzuki Motorcycle India has finally launched the V-Strom 800DE adventure tourer motorcycle in India. The all-new Suzuki V-Strom 800DE is available at an introductory price of INR 10.30 lakh (ex-showroom). The new model has replaced the V-Strom 650 XT bike globally. In comparison to the 650 XT, the 800DE comes with a complete overhaul, enhanced performance, and better capability.
The Suzuki V-Strom 800DE comes equipped with the company’s Cross Balancer system, which minimizes vibration for enhanced operation. The motorcycle is built on a rigid steel frame that provides excellent straight stability. The front brake is now positioned a bit higher for better control over rough terrain. Suzuki is offering the new version in three color schemes: glass mat mechanical gray, Champion yellow No. 2, and glass sparkle black. In its segment, the bike will rival the likes of the Honda XL750 Transalp, the BMW F 850 GS, and the Triumph Tiger 900.

Powering the V-Strom 800DE adventure motorcycle is a 776-cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that churns out power of 83 bhp and peak torque of 78 Nm. The unit is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and a bi-directional quickshifter. The brand said that the 270-degree crankshaft enables the unit to generate the same sound as the previous V-Twin engine on the bike.
The bike has adjustable suspension. It rolls on 21-inch wire-spoke wheels at the front and 17-inch back wheels, and the brake setup consists of twin 310 mm discs at the front and, at the rear, a 260 mm disc. Unlike the older Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT bike, which featured tubeless tyres for the wire-spoke wheels, the new bike gets tubed setup with Dunlop Mixtour tyres.
The V-Strom 800DE comes equipped with a 5-TFT digital instrument console along with night and day modes. The bike houses hexagonal LED headlamps, taillight and turn indicators, USB ports, and position lighting. It also has the brand’s Intelligent Ride System (SIRS), which brings features like several riding modes incorporating the G Gravel mode. The new model has low rpm assist, a Suzuki easy start system, traction control, switchable twin-channel ABS, and ride-by-wire throttle.
The Managing Director at Suzuki Motorcycle India, Kenichi Umeda, commented on the launch of the new adventure tourer and said, “The launch of the all-new Suzuki V-Strom 800DE marks a significant milestone for Suzuki Motorcycle India. It is not just a motorcycle, but a symphony of engineering designed for the ultimate adventure. With all-around capabilities and a combination of performance, technology, and versatility, the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE is set to redefine the adventure riding experience for enthusiasts across the country. The V-STROM series has consistently aimed to deliver ‘best in class’ touring experiences to motorcycle enthusiasts, a goal towards which we remain steadfast in our commitment and efforts."
