Tata Motors, an Indian multinational automotive company, has officially commenced bookings for the Tata Altroz Racer ahead of its launch on June 7, 2024. The auto giant has been teasing the hatchback on social media, revealing some of the updates. The sportier derivative of the famous Altroz premium hatchback, the all-new Racer, will come with unique exterior finishes, more equipment, a feature-packed interior, and a more robust engine.

The company has also revealed the car's brochure, which provides nearly all the information about the upcoming hatchback. The Altroz Racer will be offered in three variant levels: R1, R2, and R3, along with different levels of kit. The Tata Altroz Racer will receive a sportier look in comparison to the outgoing model. The hatchback will be available in a dual-tone paint scheme on the roof, replete with racing stripes and a blacked-out bonnet. Tata is going to offer the Racer premium hatchback in three color options: Avenue White, Atomic Orange (new), and Pure Grey. Inside the cabin, the hatchback will get many sportier design cues, including orange accents on the dashboard, orange ambient lighting, and orange inserts and stitching on the seats.

According to reports, the R1 variant will come with several revamped features, including 16-inch alloy wheels, rear air-con vents, auto climate control, projector headlamps, leatherette upholstery, fog lamps, cruise control, auto headlamps and wipers, a sportier exhaust, and a new 10.25-inch touchscreen. The Tata Altroz Racer will feature six airbags as standard.

Tata Motors will offer the Altroz Racer R2 variant with several standard features, such as a wireless phone charger, a 360-degree camera (new), a sunroof, a 7.0-inch TFT display, and a blind spot monitor (new). On the other hand, the R3 trim will also receive ventilated front seats. Notably, this is the first time the brand has added this feature to the Altroz range. In addition, the R3 trim will also feature an air purifier and iRA connected car technology.

Under the hood, the Altroz Racer will draw power from a robust 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol mill that we have seen in the Tata Nexon. The engine generates 120 bhp of power and 170 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. After its official launch in the Indian market, the Altroz Racer will rival the likes of the Hyundai i20 N Line.
