Yesterday, we told you that Yamaha India has sent out official invites for the launch of the all-new FZ-X motorcycle on June 18, 2021 in the country. Now, we have learnt that a few company dealers have unofficially started taking orders for the bike. The booking amount for Yamaha FZ-X varies from dealer to dealer as some are charging as low as Rs 1,000 while others are asking for a sum between Rs 5,000-10,000. Being based on the current FZ range, the FZ-X will flaunt a classic design with neo-retro styling elements.
Some Yamaha dealers are registering the booking against the Yamaha FZ and FZS and it will be converted once the FZ-X is launched in the Indian market with delivery on the priority assured. The booking amount is 100 percent refundable. The motorcycle has been spotted undisguised during its TVC shoot in an orange shade and upon further enquiry, it has been learnt that it will also come in matte black and silver/grey color choices. Yamaha FZ-X is expected to come in two variants. The non-Bluetooth variant would cost around Rs 1.15 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India) while the Bluetooth variant could cost somewhere around Rs 1.20 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India). The deliveries are expected to start from the first week of August 2021 in the country.
The FZ-X will feature a round classic headlamp unit upfront unlike the FZ's streetfighter face. The teardrop design of the fuel tank also appears attractive and lends it a touch of Scrambler bikes. The tall handlebars and forward position of foot pegs add the touch of a cruiser. The bike will ride on 17-inch alloy wheels as standard while a single-channel ABS will be offered as standard safety feature. Mechanically, Yamaha FZ-X will draw power from the same 149cc single-cylinder engine as the existing FZ range. The top power and peak torque are expected to remain the same at 12.4 bhp at 7,250 rpm and 13.3 Nm at 5,500 rpm, respectively. The engine will be paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
