Yamaha’s Big Launch Plans for 2025

Yamaha has finally revealed that it is going to introduce its MT-09 SP and R7 models in India by mid-2025. The completely built units are expected to land in the Indian market, positioning them as flagship models for the brand in this country. However, the  Yamaha MT-09 and R7 launch date is not confirmed yet. But yes, these are only going to be available as an order in this country and hence would also be exclusive for sure.

Yamaha R7

This has been built upon the brand's renowned CP2 platform and carries a 689cc, twin-cylinder motor capable of producing 73.4hp at 8,750rpm and 67Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. That is the platform that the Yamaha R7 offers to an Indian audience for the first time ever.

Major features include:

  • Dual-channel ABS and a slipper clutch.
  • An optional quickshifter (upshift only).
  • Lightly designed with a fully fueled weight of 188kg.
  • A rider-friendly seat height, measuring 835mm.

The Yamaha R7 is designed to appeal to customers who are searching for a mid-performance motorcycle for daily usage without compromising too much on performance- Suzuki GSX-8R (₹9.25 lakh), Triumph Daytona 660 (₹9.72 lakh), Honda CBR650R (₹9.99 lakh).

Yamaha MT-09 SP: Top-Spec Naked Thrill

Yamaha MT-09 SP has a more potent version of the 890cc, 3-cylinder of power that gives it 119hp along with 93Nm of torque. That's one fine piece of machinery there.

  • There are riding modes, traction control, cruise control, and a 6-axis IMU there.
  • Fully adjustable KYB forks and Ohlins monoshock.
  • Brembo Stylema brake calipers.

Exclusivity and Pricing

Since Yamaha MT-09 SP in India and R7, both models are brought in on demand from the customer side, the prices should be at a premium. These motorcycles will appeal to a specialized market of high-performance enthusiasts who want a premium machine.
