Yamaha Motor India has at-last after a long wait launched the most-awaited R3 and MT-03 in the Indian market. Both these models are currently priced at INR 4.65 Lakh (ex-showroom) and INR 4.60 Lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. Prospective customers will be able to buy these via Yamaha’s Blue Square dealerships. Till now, the motorcycles enter into the Indian market through a CBU or Completely Built Unit and it is anticipated that soon the bike maker might dip the cost if it experiences a surge in demand for these two to use the Completely Knocked Down route.
Both these motorbikes come with a 321 cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that churns out 41.4 bhp of maximum power at 10,750 rpm and a peak torque of 29.6 Nm at 9,000 rpm. These bikes have quite sophisticated and smooth engines but due to its high-revving engine, the bike rider might need to twist the throttle in case she or he requires to exploit that power. After saying this, the bikes have a tractable engine and attain 100 kmph at 6,000 rpm without any vibrations.

Yamaha has equipped the bikes’ engine with a six-speed gearbox. Alas, bikes don't have slip-and-assist clutch on offer due to which when the bike is downshifted in an aggressive manner, the rear does start to hop. After this all being said, the gearbox is pretty smooth for the most part.
The MT-03 and R3 are actually pretty basic if talked about their features. Both of these lack riding modes, Bluetooth connectivity, or traction control. The bikes only equips all LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster with only basic information display, and a dual-channel ABS.
