Tata does offer some equipment on the base variants, such as multiple drive modes (Eco, City, Sport), dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reach and rake steering adjust, umbrella holders in the doors and a folding rear seat. The Nexon is powered by a new 110hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine and a 110hp, 1.2-litre petrol motor, both engines are mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. Both, the petrol and the diesel are expected to get an AMT soon.

The top-spec XZ+ trim gets a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto. The system will also have voice commands for the automatic climate control. You also get projector headlamps with daytime running lamps, 16-inch alloys, rear parking camera, driver’s seat height adjust, a smart key with push-button start as standard on the XZ+. The car is available in five colour options - Moroccan Blue, Vermont Red, Seattle Silver, Glasgow Grey and Calgary White.

In terms of pricing, Tata has chosen to price this car aggressively. Prices start at ₹5.85 lakh and go up to ₹9.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Nexon’s rivals, the Maruti Vitara Brezza and the Ford EcoSport, are priced marginally higher.
