Eicher Polaris is the result of the collaboration between Eicher Motors and Polaris India. The joint venture led to the introduction of their first model – Multix. Eicher Polaris Multix was announced in June 2015 and couple of months after the announcement; the car entered the market by the end of August 2015. Multix has been named by the manufacturer as “India’s first personal utility vehicle”. The model can be used as a cargo carrier as well as a people carrier.

The joint venture between Eicher Motors and Polaris industries started in 2012 where they entered into a 50-50 partnership to manufacture vehicles in India. An initial investment of INR 350 Crores was pumped into the initiative which gave birth to Eicher Polaris Pvt. Ltd. The unified brand works on design and development facilities in their plant located in Jaipur.

When we talk about Eicher Polaris cars in India, there is just one model – Eicher Polaris Multix. The model was designed keeping Indian conditions in mind. The vehicle serves helpful for both family and business purposes and is a 3-in-1 car. The model has a cargo capacity of 400 litres. In the model, the manufacturer is offering two variants – AX+ and MX.

Both the variants are identical except the doors – AX+ has open doorways whereas MX has doors. The models are available in four colours and have 30 dealerships to sell models in the state of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. In two years, the company has come quite close to setting up dealership throughout the country.

Reviewing the Multix, The Hindu stated, “Multix is a combination of a small car which has space for a family of 5 as well the ability of small truck with storage space.” They labelled the car as innovative and the trendsetter by creating its segment. Multix is good for buyers who are seeking manoeuvrability as the small size helps in the narrow and congested streets. The design and engineering of the model help to handle diverse road conditions.

Eicher Polaris cars price in Multix variants are between INR 2.78 Lakh to INR 3.41 Lakh. The AX+ variant comes for 2.78 Lakh while the MX comes for INR 3.41 Lakh.
