Honda Cars India teased the 2020 Jazz facelift a few days back and now the new hatchback has been spotted as test mule ahead of its launch. The BS6 compliant Honda Jazz was spied as a test mule in Northern India a few days back before the nationwide lockdown was announced due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The company is replacing the present model with an all-new version in several global markets but the Indian market will get a mid-cycle facelift with a handful of cosmetic updates and new BS6 certified engines.
As for the exterior styling, 2020 Honda Jazz BS6 will retain the ongoing model's profile except for a couple of minor cosmetic updates. Inside the cabin, it will feature a new upholstery alongside the 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Several other premium features such as automatic climate control, engine start/stop button, keyless entry, steering mounted audio controls etc. will also make their way in the new iteration of Honda Jazz. The Japanese automaker is also ready with the WR-V facelift, which will also come with a handful of cosmetic updates. The 2020 Honda City sedan is also set to launch in the coming days with BS6 compliant engines.
Mechanically, the 2020 Honda Jazz facelift will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel trims with the same engines, albeit with BS6 certification. The petrol variants will draw power from the 1.2L engine which develops top power of 90bhp and peak torque of 110Nm. The diesel variants will be powered by a 1.5L diesel engine which belts out 100bhp and 200Nm. The transmission options could be identical to the Amaze with the 5-speed manual unit as standard with both the petrol and diesel motors. The petrol fuel trim might also get a CVT variant while the diesel might not have an automatic variant. Honda Jazz takes on the likes of Hyundai i20, Maruti Baleno and Toyota Glanza in the Indian market.
