Tata.ev, the electric vehicle subsidiary of Tata Motors, has recently launched its first 10 MegaChargers across key Indian highways and urban centers. This marks a significant step in bolstering the country's EV charging infrastructure.
This initial rollout is a major part of their ambitious plan to enhance EV adoption in India by installing 4,00,000 charging points by 2027.
Where did Tata.ev launch its MegaChargers?
Tata.ev collaborated with leading Charge Point Operators (CPOs), ChargeZone, and Statiq, for these installations. The first 10 MegaChargers are strategically located along major national highways and in urban hotspots to support long-distance electric mobility and daily commuting.
The ten locations of these Tata.ev Megachargers with their capacities are:
- Mumbai–Ahmedabad Highway: 3 stations in Vadodara (Shreenath Food Hub with a 400 kW charger), Vapi (Shanti Complex with a 120 kW charger), and Ghodbunder (Hotel Xpress Inn with a 120 kW charger).
- Delhi–Jaipur Highway: 4 chargers at SS Plaza (Gurugram, 120 kW charger), Hotel Old Rao (Kaprivas, 120 kW charger), Asli Pappu Dhaba (Hamzapur, 120 kW charger), and Hotel Highway King (Shahpura, 120 kW charger), at approximately 60 km intervals.
- Pune–Nashik Highway: One station at Akash Misal House (Rajgurunagar, 120 kW charger).
- Bengaluru: One station in Electronic City (Monk Mansion).
- Udaipur City: One station at Ramee Royal Resort.
These MegaChargers are open to all electric vehicles, but the Tata EV owners will get priority access and up to a 25% discount on charging tariffs.
How will the Tata.ev MegaChargers work?
The charging stations are designed to provide fast, reliable, and user-friendly charging with additional amenities. Each station is equipped with ultra-fast chargers, ranging from 120 kW to 400 kW.
The flagship 400 kW MegaCharger in Vadodara can charge up to 6 EVs simultaneously, which can deliver around 150 km of range in just 15 minutes.
Many stations feature modern amenities such as restrooms, cafes, restaurants, Wi-Fi, and in some locations, co-working spaces and retail outlets.
The EV users can locate, track, and pay for charging services through the iRA.ev app. Additionally, each MegaCharger is supported by 24/7 customer service, with on-site personnel available at select locations.

Tata.ev's plan for a better EV charging network across India
This Megachargers initiative is part of Tata.ev's broader "Open Collaboration" framework, which aims to partner with various CPOs and Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) to expand EV charging access.
This rollout is the first phase of Tata.ev's larger commitment to install 500 MegaChargers nationwide and expand the country's charging infrastructure to 400,000 charge points by 2027.
Moreover, the company also plans to install 30,000+ new public fast chargers
Tata.ev's strategy mainly relies on strategic partnerships with major CPOs like ChargeZone, Statiq, Zeon, and Tata Power, as well as OMCs. This collaborative approach is designed for efficient infrastructure development and ensures widespread accessibility.
