The scooter market in India is only getting updates from the previous generation of scooters. There are no new scooters launches. So, to change this scenario, Suzuki has introduced the Burgman Street. The Burgman Street is a 125cc maxi-scooter. The Burgman Street is also the first scooter of this type from Suzuki in India.

The Burgman Street looks quite attractive and unique

Styling – Styling of this maxi-scooter is unique. After taking a glimpse on the styling, you may completely love it, if not then surely will hate it. The bright LED headlight on the front along with turn indicators on sides complements the styling of the scooter. However, the windshield on the Burgman Street could have been slightly bigger.

This maxi-scooter gets a big seat which is high on comfort

The tail-lights on the rear are LED. The rear of the scooter is also bulky. Due to this rear bulk, the wheels on this scooter look very small. The grab-rail and the huge exhaust are in proportion with the bulky rear. Suzuki has given a lot of attention to the styling of this maxi-scooter.

The Burgman gets a digital instrument cluster

Instrument Cluster and Switchgear – The instrument cluster is a completely digital unit. At a glance, you may think it’s the same from the Suzuki Gixxer, but the information which is provided on it is totally different. The details provided on the display is more than enough, the numbers are easily readable even under bright sunlight. However, the switchgear on Burgman Street is shared with the Access 125 and it seems quite decent too.

Ergonomics on the Burgman Street are very practical

Ergonomics – The seating posture is upright, which makes it comfortable for all kind of riders. At 780 mm of seat height, it is easily accessible. The footboard on the Burgman Street is wide and majorly helps to keep daily grocery bags. The extended footboard comes in handy to get a better and more comfortable posture too. However, the pillion footpegs are quite front-set and the mirrors are very close to the rider.

The Burgman gives more than enough performance

Performance – The Burgman Street is powered by the same 124cc SEP engine from the Access. This engine produces 8.7 PS of power and 10.2 Nm of torque. The power delivery is also similar to that of the Access. The low-end is decent following to a strong mid-range and a punchy top end. The scooter can go up to a speed of 95 km/hr but the range of 50-60 km/hr is where the scooter will give the best mileage. The engine is super refined but there are some vibrations as you begin to push the vehicle towards its top speed.

The riding dynamics on the Burgman Street are well-sorted

Riding Dynamics – The Burgman Street is slightly heavier than the Access and the weight distribution is front biased. The suspension setup is also carried from the Access. The front telescopic forks absorb all the bumps on our roads but the rear suspension feels slightly stiff. The alloys on this scooter are 12-inch at the front and 10-inch at the rear. The Burgman gets a disc at the front and a drum at the rear, this setup with the combined braking system helps the scooter to stop with ease.

The Burgman Street is larger than other scooters

Verdict – The Burgman Street is placed just above Access 125. The USP of the vehicle is the maxi-styling along with a long list of features. These features include an extra storage space, digital console, LED headlights and tail-lights. At Rs. 81,000/- this 125 may sound pricey but with all the hardware onboard it looks like a very good proposal. Definitely a head-turner for the ones going for this premium Suzuki.
