The Bengaluru-based company launched two versions of its electric scooter. The Ather 340 costs Rs 1,09,750, while the Ather 450 retails for Rs 1,24,750 (on-road).
First-time buyers get a charging cable (a home charger for the 450), standard installation and a one-year subscription plan free of cost. Both the electric scooters will be only available in Bengaluru for now. The company is looking at expanding to 12 major cities by 2020.
Ather wants to set up its own EV charging infrastructure (dubbed AtherGrid) in all cities first and then sell its electric scooter. The company will invest Rs 130 crore to set up 6,500 charging points by 2022.
