BMW Motorrad has brought its K 1600 B, and it costs ₹29 lakh, while the R nineT Racer, which was also launched, costs ₹17.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Both bikes were launched at the 2017 India Bike Week. Both bikes are versions of the K 1600 GTL and the R nineT respectively. Deliveries begin at the end of the month.
The K 1600 Bagger is powered by a 1,649cc, inline-six, liquid-cooled engine producing 160hp and 175Nm, and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The bike also comes specced with a variety of electronic rider aids, including an electronic suspension with automatic damping adaptation. The bike also features Shift Assistant Pro for clutchless up and downshifts, three riding modes and BMW’s Dynamic Traction Control.
The R nineT Racer has some expensive bits from the standard R nineT removed in favour of more conventional ones. It also features five-spoke 17-inch cast alloy wheels and a twin-pod instrument cluster with an analogue speedometer and tachometer. The 1,170cc, air-cooled, boxer twin engine on the bike produces 110hp and 116Nm, the same as the standard R nineT.
