Yamaha has finally revealed the 2019 version of their entry-level sports bike, YZF-R125. The bike is not only updated cosmetically but also mechanically. The bike comes with a completely new engine and a host of improvements.
The YZF-R125 gets an all-new 124.7cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. The bike now comes equipped with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA), this system completely alters the way how the engine performs across the whole rev band. The four-valve head enables to generate more power without hampering the fuel efficiency.
The redesigned fuel injection system, a larger throttle body and an improvement in cooling efficiency has allowed Yamaha to use a smaller radiator. The engine produces 14.75 HP of power and 12.2 Nm of torque. The upcoming model comes equipped with a slipper clutch.
The aluminium swingarm is now shorter and lighter but holds a 140 mm wide rear tyre. The fuel tank capacity is of 11-litres. Though the company has unveiled the bike globally, the arrival of this Yamaha to India is still uncertain.
