The Nameplate
The company showcased its indigenously developed premium scooter for India. The Burgman Street was shown at the 2018 Auto Expo. Suzuki’s flagship scooter family usually wears the Burgman nameplate – it currently sells under 125, 200, 250, 400 and 600cc guises for international markets.
Styling
This scooter is elaborately styled and features a unique front-end, with a large apron and windscreen. The seat is wide and comfortable, and it looks like the scooter shares its mirrors with the Suzuki Gixxer. The exhaust gets an elaborate shroud too.
Access-Sourced Powertrain
The scooter uses a 124.3cc engine that also powers the Access 125. This engine produces 8.6hp and 10.2Nm and could make the same amount on the Street too.
Features
This is a feature-rich scooter - it gets a fully digital instrument cluster, a multi-function key slot, generous under-seat storage, a 12V charging socket, tubeless tyres and an LED tail-lamp.
Underpinnings
The Burgman Street features a telescopic fork and a monoshock. At the front, there’s a 90/90-12 tyre and a 90/100-10 one at the rear. There’s a disc brake at the back at the front and a drum brake, at the rear. The scooter will most likely cost ₹5,000 to ₹7,000 more than the top-spec Access SE.
