Fiat’s performance brand, Abarth updates its European range of 595 hatchbacks. The scorpion badge from Italy is now on five different models namely 595, 595 Pista, 595 Turismo, 595 Competizione and the special 695 Rivale. Each of the cars comes with the same 1.4-litre T-Jet engine but the output varies with different engine tune.
The base standard 595 offers 143 HP whereas 595 Pista gets Record Monza active exhaust as standard and makes 158 HP. Abarth Telemetry and rear Koni dampers are available as performance upgrades. The Abarth 595 Turismo makes 163 HP which propels the vehicle to a speed of 100 km/hr in just 7.3 seconds. The Turismo gets leather upholstery on the inside, an exclusive livery and some chrome accents.
The top of the line 595 Competizione comes with bigger Brembo brakes, Koni dampers on front and rear with selective damping and an optional limited slip differential (LSD). The output of 595 Competizione is 177 HP and takes only 6.7 seconds to attain a speed of 100 km/hr from a standstill. The special 695 Rivale makes the same 177 HP but gets mahogany wood and finest leather in the interiors. The inspiration of Italian yacht builder Riva can be seen with the dual tone Riva Evening Blue and Shark Grey colour scheme. India launch of the updated lineup is highly doubtful because of the poor sales of the Abarth 595 in India.
