The launch of the BMW G310 R has been sorely awaited and there finally is confirmation that the bike is abuot to hit our shores by the end of 2017. This is against earlier speculations of the bike being launched in India in early 2017.
The G310 was meant to be launched by mid-to-late 2016, but the launch date was later shifted to April 2017. Recent reports tell us that BMW will be launching it later this year, along with other models such as the The G310 GS. Though BMW Motorrad will continue with its launch in April, the company will wait until the end of the year to release the bikes. These will include the company’s adventure bikes from the R1200 range, along with the six-cylinder K1600 range and even the neo-retro R NineT range. The bikes coming to India will also include the recently updated 2017 S1000R and S1000RR, which were shown off at EICMA 2016. This 313cc, single-cylinder bike was developed in collaboration with TVS motors and is already under production.
What Motorrad is aiming for is the inclusion of more showrooms to accommodate its new future products well. They are planning to target a much wider audience with the G310R and, for that, their present stock of showrooms may be scant.
