American motorcycle brand Cleveland Cyclewerks took the wraps off four motorcycles at the Auto Expo. The company has partnered with Hyderabad-based Laish-Madison Motor Werks for its Indian operations. All these bikes will be CKD imports from China and will be assembled in Pune. The bike maker has committed to commence by June 2018.
The bikes that will be on sale include the Misfit, Ace Scrambler 250, Ace Deluxe 250, the bobber-styled Heist 250, Ace Cafe 250 and the trials-bike styled FXR 125. Expect for the FXR, all the other bikes use the same 229cc, OHV, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor, which produces 15.4hp and 16Nm.
They all share the same five-speed gearbox as well, but the FXR 125 gets a four-speed gearbox. The company has stated that prices will range from ₹2-2.5 lakh, Cleveland Cyclewerks. Cleveland’s probable selling point will be its exclusivity factor.
