The adventure bike Royal Enfield Himalayan when launched built up a bad reputation in the market with its poor built quality but after the launch of reliable BSIV model the bike is gaining back some of its lost popularity. The bike was back in the talks after Royal Enfield showcased the Himalayan in a souped-up avatar at 2018 Big Motor Sale in Bangkok.
The Dakar Rally version had its headlight replaced with the vertically stacked twin projectors. This change in layout helped for a taller windscreen. It also sported auxiliary LED lights mounted on the crash guards. Single seat with high set handlebars, higher exhaust position along with knobby tyres gave the bike a complete wild look. The bike was wrapped in the colour of Thai’s national flag.
The suspension, brakes, fuel tank, front mudguard and bash plate was carried from the standard Himalayan. The officials didn’t provide any engine specifications but we expect it to be the same long stroke 411cc engine from the standard Himalayan with some modification.
