The latest iteration of Kawsaki's Ninja 1000 is priced at ₹9.98 lakh (ex-showroom India). The bike will come here as a semi-knocked-down kit, allowing the bike maker to price it lower - the older Ninja 1000 was priced at ₹12.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The company will assemble the bike at its new plant at Chakan. For now, though, only 20 Ninja 1000s are available in India.
The Ninja 1000 will continue to be powered by the old bike’s 1043cc, four-cylinder engine, but with a BS-IV compliant motor. The bike also comes with ABS, traction control and wheelie control. There’s a new, two-piece front fairing to tell this bike apart from the older bike. The bike is wider than before and is fitted with LED headlamps, and there’s a taller, manually adjustable windscreen for better wind protection.
Prices for the Z900 have also reduced from ₹9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) to ₹7.68 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The bike will now be sold without accessories, which were part of standard kit on the Z900 at the time of launch.
