BMW R 1250 GS has been revealed which is a replacement for the R 1200 GS. The new adventure bike gets a bigger engine, which is a 1245cc boxer engine which has replaced the older 1170cc engine. The new motor produces 136 HP at 7750 RPM and 143 Nm of torque at 6250 RPM, which is considerably higher than the previous model.
BMW has added ShiftCam technology in the new R 1250 GS, which is basically Variable Valve Timing technology that has been offered for the first time in a production BMW Motorrad bike. This tech results in better power delivery lower down, efficienct combustion and improved refinement of the motor.
The bike features camshaft drive with toothed chain, optimised oil supply, twin-jet injection valves and a new exhaust system. There is a new 6.5-inch full colour TFT screen for the instrument cluster, LED headlamps with LED DRLs. The tech features include Automatic Stability Control (ASC) and Hill-start Control, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), ABS Pro (Cornering ABS), Hill-start Control Pro, Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Electronic suspension Dynamic with fully automatic load compensation. We can expect the bike in India next year.
