Lexus will unveil the car at the upcoming Tokyo motor show this year. Not only is the car longer, Lexus could give it a mid-cycle styling update when it is launched.
At a later stage, the smaller UX SUV, based on the UX concept, will be part of the line-up. It will replace the CT hatchback in Lexus' range. The car will be positioned below the RX and NX SUVs. The carmaker has filed patents for a range of variants under the UX name, including the UX200, UX250 and UX250h.
Styling of the production UX won’t be as extreme as the concept, but the spindle grille and angular styling will stay. The engine range will include both traditional internal combustion engines as well as a range-topping hybrid.
The company made its official debut in India earlier this year and has the ES sedan, the RX and the LX SUVs in its line-up.
