Just three months since Pininfarina’s announcement that it is making its own cars, the brand published more design sketches of its first offering, the PF0 hypercar. The concept will debut in concept form at the 2018 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, during Monterey Car Week in August 2018.
Automobili Pininfarina chief designer Luca Borgogno oversaw design for this project, which needed to stick to the sensual, flowing and brilliantly proportioned Pininfarina ethos. The production version of the PF0 will boast a 0-100 time of "under 2 seconds", a top speed of well over 400kph and range of 480km. For the car’s electric powertrain, Pininfarina is collaborating with Croatian electric supercar maker and electric component and system supplier Rimac.
Mahindra's Formula E racing driver Nick Heidfeld will also be involved in the development of the PF0. Set to go on sale in "late-2020", only 75-90 cars will be made.
