The company launched a special edition of the Etios Cross, the X Edition, and the car comes with brown paint, an all-black cabin, some cosmetic changes, and a new 6.8-inch infotainment system. Prices start at ₹6.8 lakh for the base petrol variant and go up to ₹8.23 lakh for the diesel (all prices ex-showroom, Kolkata).
On the inside, the cabin uses an all-black theme and the dashboard and door panels get a carbon-fibre finish. In addition, the seats have new fabric covers and there’s a new 6.8-inch infotainment system that doubles as a rear parking camera. In terms of safety, the Etios gets dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD and Isofix child seat mounts.
The special edition model comes with a few changes on the outside, which includes black plastic cladding on the front grille, and black bezels around the fog lamps. The car also gets body-coloured side plastic cladding and ‘X Edition’ badges on the C-pillar. It also comes fitted with new alloy wheels, black roof rails and chrome door handles. Mechanically, the X Edition is identical to the standard Etios Cross and is powered by the same 80hp 1.2-litre petrol, 90hp 1.5-litre petrol and 68hp 1.4-litre diesel engines that are all mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
The standard Etios Cross locks horns with VW Cross Polo, Hyundai i20 Active and the Fiat Avventura.
