Fiat has been fiercely guarding the new Aro, releasing a teaser that tells us nothing more than its name for now. Codenamed X6H, the car is the long-awaited replacement for the Punto and even the few images leaked online have revealed nothing more except a general shape. Here is look at all the details that we do know about the Argo.
The car has been built with comfort and luxury as the prime focus. Interior images of the Argo show a steering wheel that matches the Tipo hatchback, a U-Connect infotainment system and a City drive mode that could possibly increase the car’s mileage during city driving. The exterior has been well-hidden until now but we know that the car will be based on a stretched iteration of Fiat’s 326 modular architecture. The premium hatchback will be powered by a 1.4-litre four-cylinder pot petrol and a larger 1.8-litre E-Torq petrol motor from the Toro pick-up, with an impressive 100hp output. The car is expected to be offered with manual and automatic gearbox options and some spy shots indicate that certain variants will have an automatic unit with steering-mounted paddles.
If the car does it make it to India, a diesel engine is expected to be offered for the local market.
