The popular car maker, Maruti Suzuki will launch the New Ciaz in India soon. The biggest change will come in form of a new petrol motor. This mill is a 1.5-litre and makes around 12hp more than the outgoing model.
The nice thing is that this power gain has not come at the cost of fuel efficiency. Leaked data has stated quite the opposite. The new car is expected to be more fuel-efficient, with a figure of almost 21.5kpl for the manual and 20.2kpl for the auto. The Ciaz was the most fuel-efficient car and the new figures only increase its lead. These figures are far higher than competitors like the Verna, City and Yaris.
A big factor that has played a part to improve the fuel efficiency is the SHVS mild-hybrid system. Until now, the tech could only be seen on the diesel Ciaz. While the mechanism remains the same, the petrol variant has a dual-battery set-up. This system will power the AC and headlights when the engine is off. The other engine on offer is a 90hp/200Nm turbo-diesel.
The car will get LED DRLs and LED headlights. Few dealers have suggested that the Nexa dealers have started accepting bookings for Rs 11,000.
