This Hamilton’s sixth pole position in Montreal after finishing in first place in qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix. With a lap time of 1m11.459s, Hamilton beat Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel by over three tenths of a second. This is his fourth pole of the 2017 season and the 65th overall.
His Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas finished in third, but was over seven tenths slower than Hamilton. Kimi Raikkonen finished in second in the Ferrari. The two Red Bulls, with Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo piloting them, will share the third row in the grid on race day.
Felipe Massa qualified in seventh place in his Williams, and finished ahead of both the Force Indias, with Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon piloting them. Nico Hulkenberg ended up in tenth place.
