Lamborghini has introduced the drop-top version of its rear-wheel-drive Huracàn. Called the Huracàn RWD Spyder, it is priced at ₹3.45 crore (ex-showroom, India), which makes it the affordable version of the convertible Huracàn; the top-of-the-line Huracàn Spyder costs ₹3.89 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). However, it’s ₹46 lakh costlier than the Huracàn RWD.
This mid-engined convertible sportscar is powered by a 580hp 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 that also powers the rear-wheel-drive Huracàn Coupe. The foldaway roof and its mechanism make the Huracàn Spyder heavier than its hard-roofed sibling by 120kg, which is partly why it’s the slower of the two cars. The Spyder accelerates from 0-100kph in 3.6sec, which is 0.2sec slower than the coupé.
The Huracàn RWD Spyder gets new bumpers that improve downforce at the front for better grip levels.
