The Hyundai Grand i10 facelift has been launched at ₹4.58 lakh, with prices going up to ₹7.33 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Its styling has been revised to be more in line with its European sibling. It also gets more equipment and a new diesel engine.
The revised pricing makes it more affordable than the earlier model but the top variant is more expensive than it used to be. Despite that, the entire model line-up is more affordable than its main rival, the Maruti Swift, which costs between ₹4.81 lakh to ₹7.44 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The recently launched Ignis is also priced similarly – ₹4.59 lakh to ₹7.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The variant line-up for the Grand i10 has also changed with the Asta(O) trim replaced by the Asta trim as the new top variant. Just below the Asta trim is a new Sportz(O) trim.
The Grand i10 gets a new 7.0-inch touchscreen AVN system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink connectivity on top variants. All trims from the mid-level Sportz get a 5.0-inch touchscreen. Higher variants come equipped with reverse parking camera and sensors, automatic climate control, LED daytime running lamps and new-design 14-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
The main update to the Grand i10 line-up is the new diesel engine. The 71hp 1.1-litre diesel has been replaced with a 75hp 1.2-litre engine that produces 190Nm of torque. The 83hp 1.2-litre Kappa petrol stays and has been tuned for better efficiency. A five-speed manual is standard but the petrol gets the option of an auto ‘box. The claimed economy is 19.77kpl for the petrol manual, 17.49kpl for the petrol auto and 24.95kpl for the diesel.
