The images show the upcoming 911’s new rear design. You can see the new rear light bar, raised rear engine cover and vertical vent slats in these images. Porsche, however, hasn’t confirmed the authenticity of these pictures. But, based on images of the car undergoing development, these could be genuine. Porsche isn’t expected to reveal the car till next year.
The entire line-up will look more muscular and will be inspired by the design of Speedster models from yesteryear. The 992-generation 911 will be the first to go on sale with hybrid technology, and the addition of the hybrid powertrain won’t affect the car’s design. The future 911 range will be powered by turbocharged six-cylinder engines, so there won’t be any more naturally aspirated units.
The hybrid 911 version will go on sale in 2020 and it will be powered by a flat-six mated to an electric motor. The updated MMB structure that the car will be built on will use more high-strength steel and aluminium to reduce the car’s overall weight.
