Jeep dealerships are now accepting bookings for its upcoming Compass Trailhawk SUV for a fee of Rs 50,000. The car will be launched sometime by end-June or early July this year.
The car is already being manufactured at FCA’s Ranjangaon plant but is currently only being exported to markets like Australia and Japan. This rugged version will be the top-spec variant, and if it’s similar to the export model, it will have Jeep’s Active Drive Low-range 4WD tech for serious off-road duties and there also is a new 'Rock mode' for its Selec-Terrain 4WD system. The car sits higher by 20mm higher than the standard variant as well and is fitted with unique front and rear bumpers. The car will be available in a diesel-automatic configuration for India.
It uses the same 170hp, 2.0 litre diesel engine mated to a nine-speed automatic. This car also gets added features like alloy wheels, dual-tone black and silver shade, red recovery hooks, a black painted anti-glare bonnet decal, underbody skid plates and all-weather floor mats.
