The 2017 versions of KTM’s 125 and 390 Duke have been recalled in Europe to fix a problem with the new LED headlights. The headlight would randomly restart in some situations, which is potentially dangerous, especially in the night. The bike only needs a small software update to fix this. The recalled bikes are getting this software update free of charge at KTM dealerships in Europe and customers have been asked to contact their nearest dealership if they had faced such an issue. Customers have also been asked to check if their bike was one of those affected by looking through the service website.

It has been reported in India in some instances that the 390 Duke has been facing a similar problem with the LED headlight sporadically rebooting and even the new full-colour TFT instrument display restarting at random instances. KTM stated that this software glitch was only found in the first lot of new 390s produced at Chakan and that all affected bikes have already received their software update.

Any 390 Dukes which missed this software update for any reason can be brought to any dealership to receive the patch free of cost. Owners could get in touch with KTM India over email as well to address issues that they are facing.
