After having shifted the hot-selling Ciaz into its Nexa chain of premium showrooms, Maruti has an update lined up for its Honda City rivalling sedan.
The updated car has been spotted testing wearing mild camouflage, but changes to the exterior seem rather subtle. Interior shots reveal a new instrument console that features a new, larger digital readout than the outgoing model’s. Additional features on the updated Ciaz are likely to include automatic headlamps, LED projector headlamps and even rain-sensing wipers on fully loaded variants.
Mechanically, however, the car is likely to remain unchanged. It is expected to carry over the current car’s 92hp, 1.4-litre petrol and 90hp, 1.3-litre diesel engines as is.
The Ciaz has been quite a successful model for Maruti, and has been the carmaker’s best crack at a segment that was dominated by the Honda City. In fact, it’s been one of the strong sellers in the Rs 8-10 lakh space.
