The car was spotted undisguised at the company’s Haryana facility. The car goes on sale in August 2018. The grille is all new and there are reprofiled headlights with a more prominent ‘brow’. It should come with LED headlamps and chrome surrounds for the fog-lamp housings.
The tail-lamps could be re-profiled and sport LED elements too. Expect minor updates to the seat fabric and a new, lighter woodgrain shade as well. The car will most probably come with an upgraded product list and Maruti may or may not offer a sunroof on fully loaded versions of this car.
The car will get a new petrol engine – the 1.5-litre K15B motor will replace the current 1.4-litre K14 unit. Power has gone up to 104hp (from 92hp) and the car makes more torque, at 138Nm (compared to 130Nm). The new engine will also feature in the all-new Ertiga MPV that will come to India this year. There will be manual and automatic gearboxes.
The older 1.3-litre diesel engine will be sold initially but will be replaced by Suzuki’s in-house 1.5-litre engine that is currently being developed. Prices will be competitive.
