Italian carmaker Maserati has announced Indian prices of its SUV. The prices start at ₹1.45 crore for the lowest-spec model and go up to ₹1.54 crore for the top-spec model. In total, it is available in three trim levels - standard, GranSport and GranLusso. Of the three, as the name suggest, the GranSport is the sporty one.
The SUV is named after the warm Mediterranean wind that can transform from a light breeze to a storm within seconds. The Maserati looks considerably different from the current crop of SUVs with its curvy styling and large dimensions. The big SUV is more than five metres long and has a wheelbase of more than three metres. To add to that, the Levante is equipped with 19 inch wheels. The car has an adjustable air-suspension that can raise the ground clearance to 247mm for off-roading.
Powering the big SUV is a 3.0-litre, V6 turbo-diesel that makes 275hp and 600Nm while being paired to an eight speed automatic transmission. The all-wheel-drive Levante manages to reach 100kph in 6.85 seconds. The lowest-spec Levante comes with a dual-tone black and red interior. All three variants come equipped with an 8.4 inch touchscreen unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In terms of competition, the SUV rivals the Range Rover Sport and the Porsche Cayenne.
