The company wants to add a new SUV to its range and has unveiled its Vision Ultimate Luxury at the 2018 Beijing motor show. The high riding concept features the silhouette of a traditional sedan to create a roomy and luxurious four-seater. While the production car won’t be as outrageous, the exterior design (including its bold chromed grille) are expected to be used on the final car. It will rival cars like the Bentley Bentayga and Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
On the inside, this car gets a cabin furnished with fine leather, wood and rose gold. The concept sits on 24-inch wheels and is powered by an electric powertrain. The engine uses a quartet of motors, with one acting on each wheel to provide a fully variable four-wheel drive. The electric motors together make 750hp and the car can hit an electronically limited top speed of 250kph. The battery’s capacity is 80kWh, and it can offer a range of over 499km.
There’s also a DC system that allows a capacity of up to 350kW and five minutes of charging provides sufficient power to take the car up to 100km. You can charge the car at public charging stations, from conventional mains power, or using inductive charging through a contactless plate.
The new powertrain could form the basis of the EQ S sedan, which is due to enter production in 2020.
