Rumours about the launch of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' (FCA) brand Mopar in India have been finally confirmed. Initially, the company will operate in the service sector, providing vehicle service facilities to Jeep and Fiat owners across the country. Mopar is widely known for supplying performance parts and has operations in over 150 markets. It has been a name to reckon with since the early 1960's.
Mopar, a combination of the words 'motor' and 'parts', also doubles up as FCA’s after sales service and customer care division across the globe, and as a provider of genuine accessories and spare parts for all cars sold under the various FCA brands. As far as India is concerned, it is said that FCA is in the process of rebranding all existing Fiat and Jeep service outlets as Mopar. Though initially, the focus will be on improving the production of parts, this move is also targeted at a better after-sale experience for the company as well as its customers. FCA is expected to coincide its launch with the unveiling of the Jeep Compass SUV in the country.
