  • Kawasaki makes four new additions to its range

Get ready to see four brand new Kawasaki bikes on the streets soon with the surprise launch of the Kawasaki Z900, Z650, Ninja 650 and Ninja 300. Here is everything you need to know about the four new additions.

Kawasaki Z900: ₹9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)
The Z900 will be replacing the Z800 models. The new bike packs quite a punch – Kawasaki has reworked its design and the bike is much lighter now. The naked motorcycle runs on a 948cc, in-line, four-cylinder engine and makes 125hp and 100Nm of peak power and torque. Aiding the power supply is a slipper-clutch-equipped six-speed gearbox. Stopping power for all that mass comes from dual 300mm petal disc rotors with four-piston callipers at the front, while the rear gets a 250mm petal disc chomped down by a single-piston calliper

Kawasaki Z650: ₹5.19 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)
The new Z650 replaces the ER-6n in the company’s product line-up. The new model is much lighter, almost by 20kg, than the outgoing one. It is powered by a 649cc, parallel-twin engine that makes 68hp and 65.7Nm of torque. The seat height falls at 790mm. The bike comes equipped with a dual, semi-floating 300mm petal disc at the front and a single 220mm petal at the rear with ABS.

Kawasaki Ninja 650: ₹5.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)
This may not be a completely new model, but the updated Ninja 650 now comes with a host of new features and is also BS-IV compliant. It is still powered by the same 649cc, parallel-twin engine and supported by the 41mm telescopic front forks of its predecessor. But the similarities end there as the new model has been giving mechanical and electronic updates.

Kawasaki has managed to make this bike a surprising 22kg lighter. The design comes from a much sleeker place, clearly inspired by the ZX-10R. The seats are split instead of the single-piece seat on the previous Ninja 650. New features also include ABS, brake callipers from Nissin, an adjustable visor, and a gear-position indicator for the digital instrument cluster.

Kawasaki Ninja 300: ₹3.64 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)
The new model has gained a total of 2kg due to the new BS-IV guidelines implemented by the government. This might also be the reason for the inclusion of an unattractive grab rail that contributes nothing to the overall appearance. It continues to be powered by a 39hp, 296cc, liquid-cooled, parallel twin that's mated to a six-speed gearbox, equipped with a slipper clutch.
