A leaked image of the car, clicked at Nissan’s Oppama factory in Japan, has made its way onto the internet. You can see the design of the exterior for the first time – there’s a more angular nose, sharper headlights and a sleeker body shape.
The all-electric car will be revealed on September 6, and Nissan claims it’s been designed to maximise range – the company claims it can go up to 547km on each charge. That’s twice as much as the outgoing car and 145km more than Renault’s Zoe.
The Leaf will be the company’s, and segments, most autonomous-capable model. The car will come with Pro Pilot Park technology - using sonars and cameras, the car parks itself in any spot. The car will also feature a single-lane semi-autonomous feature.
The Leaf, when launched next year, will lead Nissan's charge to maximise the sale of EVs from its portfolio.
