A new image showcasing the electric car's tail-light design was leaked on Twitter recently. The car’s design looks like its inspired by the Micra, and features sharper lines on the body and a more aggressive nose.
The car will be powered by a 150hp electric powertrain with a 40kWh battery. The car’s range is said to be substantially more – it can hit 544km on a single charge. The car’s aerodynamic performance aids its range as well.
The Leaf is touted to be the most autonomous-capable model in its segment. Its ProPilot Park system uses sonar and cameras to park itself in either parallel, angled, front or straight back-in parking spots. The system is also capable of handling the throttle, brakes and steering.
The Leaf will lead Nissan's charge to grow EVs to 20 percent of total sales by 2020.
