The updated Porsche Macan was shown in China. The car comes with an updated appearance and will be fitted with new technology.
There’s a redesigned front bumper, new LED projector headlights and a full-width LED strip between the tail-lights. You can also pick from a new range of 20-inch and 21-inch alloys. On the inside, the dashboard has been redesigned and you now get Porsche's Communication Management system, which features a larger 11.0-inch screen. Apart from other tweaks, you also get an optional GT sports steering wheel fitted with what Porsche calls a 'Sport Response button'.
The standard driver assistance set-up will now also feature a new Traffic Jam Assist function. This function enables partially autonomous driving capability at speeds up to 37mph. For now, there are no details on the engine line-up, however the Macan is not expected to offer a hybrid drivetrain owing to restrictions in the basic engineering of its platform which doesn’t allow it to hold a sufficiently sized battery. The German carmaker says that the car’s driving dynamics have been improved and said that the updated chassis has brought “enhanced neutrality while maintaining stability and improving comfort”.
The pre-facelift Macan in India retails from Rs 80.38 lakh to Rs 1.52 crore (ex-showroom, India).
